Introduction

Answer calls. Book appointments. Keep customers moving. Set up BluePenguin to do the phone work while your team does the job.

#Put the phone work on autopilot

Give your assistant the business facts and rules. Pick a voice. Test it, then connect a number. It can answer at night, on weekends and while your team is busy. Open the call record to see what the caller needed, what happened and what comes next.

Use the same assistant on your website, in outbound campaigns and in workflows that update Slack, HubSpot or Google Sheets. Build from the dashboard or use the REST API and signed webhooks from your own code.

#How a call works

A call is a loop of listening, thinking and speaking that repeats until someone hangs up.

StepWhat happensTypical time
ListenSpeech-to-text turns the caller's words into text while they talk and decides when they have finished.streaming
ThinkThe language model reads your instructions, your business details and the conversation so far, then replies or uses a tool.about 300 ms
SpeakA voice model turns the reply into speech and streams it down the line.about 100 ms to the first sound

If the caller starts talking, the assistant stops and listens. In Ultra mode one speech-to-speech model does all three steps, which gives the fastest replies.

Hear them first
The call box at the top of bluepenguin.io connects you to Penny, our own receptionist, and to the four example receptionists above. Each one is built from the instructions on its example page.
