Connect Other PBX

Let the AI answer calls from Other PBX (Any SIP-capable system) and transfer them back to your team. Connect your phone system with these steps.

First create a trunk on Phone numbers → PBX / SIP and choose Other PBX. In the steps below, SIP_SERVER, USERNAME and TRUNK_PASSWORD are the values shown on your trunk page.

#Steps

  1. Create a SIP trunk that registers to the SIP server on port 5060 (UDP or TCP), or 5061 for TLS.

  2. Username or auth ID: the trunk username. Password: the trunk password. Codecs: G.711 μ-law and A-law.

  3. Send any call you want the AI to answer down this trunk, for example by dialling 7777.

  4. Transfers from the AI come back over the same trunk to the extension or number you choose.

#Check it works

  1. The trunk page shows Registered (for username and password trunks).
  2. Dial 7777 from an internal extension. The AI should answer.
  3. Ask to be transferred to a person, and check the call reaches the extension you set.
