Calls
Outbound calls
Make the follow-up call. Start it from your code, a campaign or an appointment reminder.
Outbound calls come from three places:
| Source | Use it for |
|---|---|
| REST API | Calling one person from your own system, such as right after a web form is submitted. |
| Campaigns | Calling a list inside set hours, with retries. |
| Reminder calls | Confirming appointments the day before (Pro). |
#Set the assistant up for outbound
- Set the first message mode to Wait for the caller, because people usually answer with "Hello?".
- Say who is calling and why in the first sentence.
- Use variables for the person's name and the reason for the call.
- Write a voicemail message.
#Caller ID
Calls come from one of your BluePenguin numbers. With the API, pass phone_number_id. Without it, your first number is used.
#Numbers
Numbers must be in E.164 format, such as +13125550142.
Caution
Only call people who expect to hear from you, and follow the calling rules where you and they are. Many places restrict automated calls and the hours you may call.
